About our Amsterdam Boat Tours

The canals truly define Amsterdam’s unique landscape and provide a stunning backdrop to the city’s historical centre. There’s no better way to experience Amsterdam than from the water. Glide through the city’s beautiful canals and fall in love with every view.

We offer Amsterdam boat tours and canal cruises on a modern, small open boat. Guaranteed small groups as we take a max of 12 guests per tour. The boat is quiet due to it’s eco friendly electric engine, which lets us silently glide through the canals. We also have a fridge on board, well stocked with water, soft drinks, beer and wine. Blankets are available to keep you cozy and warm when it turns cooler.

We love our city and are passionate about explaining the growth of Amsterdam and its history.

During the winter season, we offer fully immersive boat tours of the enchanting Amsterdam Light Festival. Where we explore the city’s beauty illuminated by 20 stunning light art installations.

Thank you Captain Callum for giving us a such a fun, relaxed & informative canal cruise and showing us some fab sights. The small boat was lovely, and it was so nice to be with a smaller group-cruising the smaller, quieter canals. We saw the bigger cruises going past with 20+ people listening via an Audio guide and we were so happy with our choice. So much more personal and a fun experience. Would absolutely recommend! Really great value drinks on board too if, like us, you forgot to pick up before!

Captain Attila is a great guide. He is able to share his extensive knowledge of Amsterdam's history, canals, buildings, and personalities in such an engaging, interesting, and fun way for all the family. My wife, three sons, and I had such a great time – so thank you, Attila! The boat is also ideal – electric and comfortable, so you can get up close and into the really interesting and narrower canals too. My family and I strongly recommend Attila and Amsterdam Boat Adventures over the bigger, less personal (and potentially cheaper) boats that ply the canals, where bored faces stare out of the windows at you.

I live here, have tried a bunch with different visitors, and this was my favorite. Captain Attila was phenomenal—so easy to talk to and listen to, conversational—didn't feel like a tour guide doing his job, felt like your friend showing you around on a boat. Also, a small group of only 8 on our boat, so it felt really special. Cannot recommend enough, and Attila was the best!

We had last visited Amsterdam in 2019 and twice greatly enjoyed our small tours through the canals with Jamie. When we returned this June, I made it a priority to see if ABA was still in business and was happy to see that they are. The boat is small but comfortable, and the tour is a friendly, informative, funny, and charming view of Amsterdam through its canals. Capt. Jamie and crew are excellent and safe boaters. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are available on board at very affordable prices. The embarkation point is around the corner from the Hermitage Museum (where other, larger boat tours depart). ABA is the perfect size (maximum 12) and vibe for a relaxing but educational slow cruise, day or sunset. Very highly recommend it!

This was a perfect way to end our first day in Amsterdam. Jamie was a great guide, shared Amsterdam history, pointed out interesting info about the architecture and houseboats, and made everyone feel comfortable during the 90-minute cruise. There were blankets on board for the chilly night air and cold drinks for purchase. Highly recommend doing this at sunset for the beautiful light on the water and the night lights in the canals.
